- Have you eaten from a street tree? The Eat Street Trees! project encourages cities to plant edible urban forests and city folk to eat the fruits of these forests. Contribute your story to Eat Street Trees!
- Learn about the nature making project [pdf] at localecology.org. Nature-made sites are strategically designed to produce ecosystem services in neighborhoods and cities. What are ecosystem services? Wildlife habitat, heat island reduction, clean air, stormwater management, and carbon sequestration. Do you manage or know of a nature-made site? Complete the Nature-made Site Information Form.
- Trees by their nature provide environmental benefits however these benefits have not always been formally and systematically recognized in policy documents. Research on the Ecological Street Tree examines the transformation in the role of the street tree from one of beautification and ornamentation to one more inclusive of environmental services.
