Goal reached for Washington Square Park Ecology

Goal reached! $3000 was raised by June 21st.* Many, many thanks to the 35 family and friends who donated! Funds will be used to develop and launch a web-based map of the wild things of the park, from historic elms to squirrel nest boxes.  There will be a citizen science component to the project so please watch this space (or bit.ly/WSPEcology ) for updates. * ioby is still accepting donations on our behalf until June 30, 2014.  If you know someone who would like to make a gift, please direct them to the website: bit.ly/WSPEcology .

Favorite Washington Square Park plant photos

On Monday June 16 I participated in a plant photography work session at Washington Square Park to raise awareness of the  Washington Square Park Ecology  map project.  All of my photos from the work session are available on Flickr , and those of the instructor, Hubert J. Steed, can be viewed here .  My favorite photographs of the ones I took are included in this post.
