The Mollie Parnis Dress Up Your Neighborhood Contest challenged grassroots community groups in economically under-resourced neighborhoods to work on beautification projects that bring neighbors together.

The garden was "the second official stop on the first leg of the [2008] Green With Envy Tour" hosted by Flatbush Gardener.
